Dia is roughly inspired by the commercial Windows program 'Visio', though more geared towards informal diagrams for casual use. It can be used to draw many different kinds of diagrams. The official performance test is ~2-12% degrade comparing to bare MySQL and the degree of degradation depends on number of concurrent connections. But browsing through the forum, the performance is ~100% degraded.
